The Bellami HD-1 is an interchangeable-lens full HD Digital Movie Camera. It pays tribute to the old pistol-grip Super 8 camera and transforming it with modern digital technologies.

The Bellami HD-1 can use a variety of lenses with D, C, CS, or M42 screw mounts. It is designed to bring the unique optical characteristic of these lenses, be it vintage or brand new, into the world of digital imaging. Bellami HD-1 comes standard with the CHINON f=4mm / F1.2 D-mount lens. This large aperture lens is bright and offers superb optical performance.

The HD-1 features a retro style body built around a die cast alloy frame; the classic design integrates a high performance electronics viewfinder, removable hand grip and a flexible lens mount system. Boasting a 2.1 megapixel sensor, the camera is capable of shooting in full HD in variety of frames rates and wide range of shutter speeds.

The CHINON 4mm/F1.2 lens is designed and made in Japan for the Bellami HD1. This lens, is all glass with 7 elements in 6 group, gives superb optical performance.

Bellami HD-1 is a perfect tool for working with the old movie lenses. Enjoy the fusion of the elegant images created by the old lenses and state-of-the-art technology of Bellami HD-1.

There are two different Bellami HD-1 packages on offer. The standard package comes with the D-mount and C-mount adapters. The deluxe package comes also with the CS-mount and M42-mount adapters.

 

High sensitivity MOS sensor and state-of-the-art image processing enable high ISO of 12800. The Bellami HD-1 captures bright and clear movies/images in low light conditions of 0.2 Lux and darker.

We picked the 1/3-inch, 2.12 mega pixels MOS image sensor, from many different sensors, to exploit the old lenses’ characteristics. The sensor of the 1/3-inch size fits perfectly to the 8mm film format of movie cameras used by high-end users.

The 0.47 inches color LCD electronic viewfinder with 1.44 megapixels gives a high quality viewing image as that of a high-end DSLR camera. Focusing is made easy with the high resolution and natural color image, even under bright outdoor conditions.

Wide shutter speed range to capture clear movies and photos in dark conditions or of fast-moving objects. 1/30 sec to 1/10000 sec for taking movie, and 2 sec to 1/10000 sec for capturing still image.

Electronic Image Stabilization helps to reduce camera shaking during movie shooting.




In burst capturing mode, 8 images per second can be achieved. The Bellami HD-1 can capture image at the decisive moment. 

The Bellami HD-1 offers 6 different frame rates for the movie shooting including 10fps, 15fps, 16fps, 18fps, 24fps, and 30fps. 16 and 18 frame-per-second movie is reminiscent of the earliest movie film cameras (16fps) and 8mm film cameras (18fps). The combination of the low frame rate and old lenses can create a retro movie that is more authentic than those created by digital image processing on a PC.

Digital zoom function up to 12x is supported. The Bellami  HD-1 can magnify the subject even if a fixed focal length lens is used.

Two types of the color filters, Sepia and Monochrome for creating retro feels in your movie and photos.

There are  color illusion function with four selections of image processing filters for creating movies and images of originality. “CG art” brings you to the world of computer graphics, “Reversal” to the world of reversed gradation, “Retro” to the 1940’s world of imaging with blast of color and vignetting shadow, and “Pictorial” to the world of paintings.

 

An accessory conforming to the ISO standard such as a flash light or a movie light can be attached to the hot shoe on the top of the Bellami HD-1.

Connecting your music player to the AUX port to create movie with your preferred high quality background audio.

Connecting the Bellami HD-1 to a TV, a LCD monitor, or a tablet computer with the HTMI port to review the captured images and movies on large screen. 

Connecting the Bellami HD-1 to a computer through an USB cable and use it as a high performance Web camera.
